Abstract/Summary

An archaeological 'watching brief' was maintained during the excavation of a Virgin Media cable trench between Church Lane and the south face of the west tower. Much of the trenching was dug through recently disturbed ground and was never deeper or wider than 400mm. No pre-modern deposits or artefacts were observed, other than the base of the west tower.
