Abstract/Summary

A programme of archaeological observation, investigation and recording was undertaken during the excavation of postholes associated with the erection of the new fence lines on and within the Scheduled Monument of Irchester Roman Town at Chester Farm, Irchester, Northamptonshire. Observations were made throughout the work. Several abraded sherds of unstratified Roman pottery, dated from the 1st to 4th centuries AD, and fragments of Iron objects were recovered from the topsoil. No archaeological features were observed.
