Abstract/Summary

Archaeological Observation, Investigation and Recording was undertaken by the University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) on land adjacent to Skew Bridge Ski Slope, Northampton Road, Rushden, Northamptonshire on the 3rd and 4th of September 2015. The fieldwork was intended to provide a record of any archaeological remains that may be impacted on from geotechnical test pits undertaken in advance of the construction of a car park for the development of the former Skew Bridge Ski Slope and surrounding land. Five geotechnical trenches were mechanically excavated as part of the Car Park Ground Investigation in order to determine the ground condition prior to a planning application due to be submitted in Autumn 2015. Undisturbed natural substratum was observed in all trenches and no archaeological features or deposits were present. The report will be archived under temporary accession number NH_RUSHLK2014
