Title A Heritage and Archaeological Desk-Based Assessment of land at West Haddon Road, Crick, Northamptonshire
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2015

Abstract/Summary

A Heritage and archaeological desk-based assessment has been prepared for RDC Development Consultants by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) in advance of planning proposals for a mixed use development of land at West Haddon Road, Crick, Northamptonshire. The assessment indicates that the proposed development is in close proximity to known Iron Age and Romano-British sites and lies within an area with surviving medieval ridge and furrow earthworks. Consequently there is some potential for the presence of prehistoric, Romano-British and medieval archaeology or any combination thereof within the development site. The proposed application area is adjacent to Listed buildings on Lauds Road and the Grand Union Canal Conservation Area. While the development may have some impact on these areas this will be mitigated by screening from existing and new planting.
