Abstract/Summary

A programme of archaeological fieldwork was undertaken by the University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) of the kitchen at Fermyn Woods Hall, Brigstock, Northamptonshire, in advance of remodelling works, for which listed building consent has been granted (P.A. 13/01567/FUL). Fermyn Woods Hall is a Grade II* listed building, which was constructed in the 17th century, probably as a hunting lodge in the Rockingham Forest. The house was much altered during the 18th and 19th centuries, when it passed from the Earls of Upper Ossery to the Ladies Fitzpatrick and Lord Lyveden. The report and archive will be deposited with Northamptonshire County Council in due course.
