Abstract/Summary

An archaeological earthwork survey of upstanding remains within the historic core of Crick was carried out by MOLA Northampton in July 2015. The work was commissioned by CgMs Consulting in response to a request from the Assistant Archaeological Advisor to Northamptonshire County Council. The archaeological remains likely relate to the early medieval settlement of Crick and comprised a ladder system of hollow ways with housing platforms either side. The site had undergone some disturbance after it fell out of use; there are a number of depressions which relate to extraction or might be tree throws. The reinstatement of the site following the construction of an unauthorised BMX track was not visible.
