Abstract/Summary

MOLA carried out a programme of historic building recording of agricultural buildings at Puxley Farm, Puxley. The buildings comprised a barn, stock barn, stables and modern sheds. The listed farmhouse is dated to the late 18th century and it is likely that the main central barn is contemporary with this period. Evidence suggests that a programme of construction work was instigated in the mid-late 19th century, during which time the farm complex was expanded with the addition of stock barns, stables and a covered yard. The buildings were subject to fire damage in the late 20th century, following which the northern range and covered yard were replaced with a modern portal-framed grain shed.
