Abstract/Summary
The project recorded the structure of the former works. Five phases of building were apparent; lab block, office block, lean-to, an extension and additional porch. The earliest building is likely to be the lab block, predating the 1884 map. The office block was built between 1884 and 1900, the extension to the lab block between 1900 and 1925, the lean-to between 1938 and 1971 and the small porch to the extension between 1971 and 1977.
