Abstract/Summary

MOLA Northampton was commissioned by Persimmon Homes to carry out archaeological trial excavation on land at the former middle school, Kingsthorpe, Northampton, prior to proposed development. Eight trenches were excavated across the site. A shallow pit dating to the Middle Iron Age, a post-medieval field ditch and three undated possible ditches were identified. Elsewhere the work has shown extensive recent disturbance related to the construction and use of the school.
