SNN110728 - Estate Cottages, Arthingworth, Northamptonshire: Archaeological Monitoring and Recording, December 2014

In July 2014 Foundations Archaeology undertook a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording during development works at Estate Cottages, Arthingworth, Northamptonshire (NGR: 475473 281620). The work was commissioned by Sheridan Guinness of Ekkekko Developments Ltd. The works comprised the monitoring of ground reduction associated with landscaping of the area to the west of the cottages. All of the works were located within the gardens of the existing cottages. The site consisted of a horizon of mixed deposits with no clear stratigraphy, suggesting that it was made ground. The site had also been disturbed by Modern interventions. The natural geology was not encountered during the monitored groundworks. No features of archaeological significance were identified. The artefactual material recovered on site did not pre-date the late Post-medieval/Modern period.
