Abstract/Summary
In January 2017, the excavation of twelve pits for stanchion bases for a new agricultural barn at Rectory Farm, Fosters Booth, were archaeologically monitored. The development site is on the edge of the settlement, close to Watling Street and an area of cropmarks suggestive of Romano-British settlement and had the potential to contain buried heritage assets of late Iron Age or Roman date. The observations did not reveal any buried heritage assets or artefacts. It is therefore unlikely that significant buried heritage assets are present on the site, or that the development has had any impact on buried heritage assets.
