Abstract/Summary

In June 2017 KDK Archaeology Ltd conducted an Archaeological Evaluation of the land to the rear of 173 Watling Street, Towcester, Northamptonshire, prior to the commencement of a small housing development. The evaluation uncovered evidence of Roman occupation in the shape of the partial remains of a stone surface, found within a small test pit. This was below an occupation deposit of unknown date, which in turn was below modern made ground. A Victorian well was also found at the southwest end of the same trench
