Abstract/Summary

Between July and October 2015 MOLA Northampton carried out archaeological excavation, recording and analysis at Apex Park, Daventry, Northamptonshire in advance of the construction of warehouses forming an extension to the Apex Park Industrial Estate. Activity dating from the prehistoric to early medieval period was identified. A middle Bronze Age segmented circular enclosure was subsequently recut as an almost complete ring. An early Iron Age pit alignment was offset from an earlier polygonal enclosure. Two early – middle Iron Age ring ditches, were associated with a series of shelters and four-post structures, and a rectilinear enclosure were located between these earlier non-domestic activity zones. In the north of the site was a single possible Anglo-Saxon sunken-featured building.
