Abstract/Summary

Hellidon Grange is an early commission by Willaim Butterfild and is a forerunner of the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century. Following a historic building assessment the house was subject to renovation and modernisation works between 2013 and 2017. The works were carried out in a sensitive manner which minimised the impact on the historic fabric, and retained, as far as possible, all original features and fittings. The works uncovered a previously unknown window and a well in the former bakehouse and a flagstone floor in the former kitchen.
