Abstract/Summary

MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by Foster Project Services to carry out archaeological observation, investigation, recording and analysis at Hazelwood Lane, Kettering, Northamptonshire prior to the proposed development of the site. The stone and brick footings of three buildings were identified; comprising two phases of development of the site in the 18th and 19th centuries; the latter phase corresponded to buildings recorded on maps from 1826 and 1886. Other features included a cobbled surface, pits, a possible well, a posthole, and later drains and surfaces. Documentary evidence and finds recovered from the site indicate a largely domestic setting.
