| Title | Land at Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire: Geophysical Survey Report |
| Author/Originator | Rebecca Davies |
| Date/Year | 2017 |
Abstract/Summary
A detailed magnetometer survey was conducted over approximately 5.6 ha of arable farmland and scrub. A possible extension of a known Romano-British field system has been identified, though the exact origin of the magnetic responses is unclear. Other linear anomalies are of uncertain origin, but are more likely to be a result of agricultural activity. Evidence of ridge and furrow cultivation is present across the south of the area while he remaining responses are natural or modern. These include an underground service, modern ploughing effects and disturbance from nearby ferrous metal objects.
