Abstract/Summary

In July 2018, a programme of Archaeological Observation and Recording was undertaken at Units 4 & 5, 55 Brackley Road, Towcester, Northamptonshire, in order to fulfil Condition 5 of Planning Consent for the construction of new houses on the site. This programme of works was undertaken following an initial Archaeological Evaluation that was undertaken in 2017 by KDK Archaeology. This previous investigation exposed two possible medieval ditches, a post-medieval wall and a number of linear stone features believed to be a system of simple land drains. The stone features exposed in 2017 were also observed during this investigation; however, no other archaeological features or finds were present.
