Abstract/Summary

MOLA was commissioned to undertake an archaeological geophysical survey of c26ha of land at Tiffield Park, Towcester. The survey identified a probable prehistoric ring ditch; several sets of enclosures likely to date from the Iron Age and Roman periods; medieval to early post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivaton; a historic parish boundary and the remains of a short-lived iron works and railway. Some very intensive anomalies of uncertain origin were also detected. The majority of the detected archaeologicl remains were concentrated in the north-western portion of the survey area.
