Abstract/Summary
A programme of archaeological excavation was undertaken on land at Fineshade Abbey, Fineshade, Northamptonshire, NN17 3BA. This was conducted by Midland Archaeological Services prior to development of the site and to satisfy a planning condition. This programme of work concluded that natural soil and topsoil were present throughout the site, along with remains of parts of the 19th century extension to the 18th century Fineshade House, as well as an associated 19th century yard surface and ancillary structure.
