Abstract/Summary

Preliminary archaeological investigation was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology acting for clients on arable land off Glapthorn Road, Oundle, Northamptonshire (NGR TL033890). A fieldwalking survey produced evidence of a concentration of Roman pottery in the western part of the evaluation area. A thinner and more extensive scatter of medieval and late medieval pottery probably denotes former manuring. Several metal finds located by metal detecting reconnaissance include a Roman brooch in the area of the pottery scatter .
