Abstract/Summary

Archaeological Observation, Investigation, Recording and Analysis during groundworks was carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at land west of and including ‘Living’ Area, Rushden Lakes, Northamptonshire, SP 93436 67572. The work has been commissioned by BE Design, and is intended to provide preliminary indications of the character and extent of any heritage assets in order that the potential impact of the development on such remains may be assessed by the Planning Authority. The work was completed over two days in April 2019. The investigation involved the excavation of 15 machine excavated geological test pits of 0.5m x 1.5m at the surface, and excavated (narrowing) to a depth of approximately 4m deep (full reach of the machines boom). No archaeological features were found during the course of this work. The archive for this work will be deposited with event number ENN109454.
