Abstract/Summary

In May and July 2012, and January 2015 archaeological Solutions carried out archaeological investigation comprising strip, map and sample of land to the rear of 4 Brackley Fields Cottages, Halse Road, Brackley. The investigation was undertaken in compliance with a planning condition attached to planning permission for construction of 10 residential dwellings. The site lies on the boundary of two of the medieval field systems of the town of Brackley (Castle Side open field and Old Town field). Archaeological investigations to the north of the site have revealed evidence of Middle iron Age occupation, with enclosures and posthole structures, with a single preceding Neolithic feature. The investigation revealed no archaeological featrues or finds.
