Abstract/Summary
Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c. 5ha area of land along a c.2km corridor. A fluxgate magnetometer survey was successfully completed and no anomalies of probable archaeological origin have been identified within the survey area. Several anomalies were identified whose origins where ambiguous in form may be reflective of archaeological, agricultural or natural features. The geophysical results primarily reflect agricultural and modern activity, with some magnetic interference from extant field boundary fences and buried services. Three former field boundaries have been identified within the geophysical data, the locations of which have been confirmed in historic mapping.
