Abstract/Summary

This probable pre-1738 Grade II listed building has for much, if not all, of its life been ‘The New Inn’. It has been much altered and closed as an Inn in 1970. When recorded it had been fully stripped out and was in the process of conversion to apartments, so little detail could be recorded. Nothing remains to indicate its former inn function, although this has been traced back to 1827. The building itself was mapped in 1803.
