Author/Originator
Date/Year 2003

Abstract/Summary

Describes the occupation phases of the site from 50 BC to after AD 420, and discusses the sequence of occupation, looking in particular at the first stone villa, built around the late-first to early-second century, and its ancillary buildings; its rebuilding following a fire later in the second century; and the dramatic change towards the end of the third century, with further rebuilding apparently interrupted by abandonment and later reoccupation by a series of small family units, with a tiler's workshop taking the place of the main bath suite.
