Abstract/Summary

A geophysical (magnetometer) survey, covering 102 hectares was undertaken on land off Crick Road, south of Yelvertoft, Northamptonshire. Anomalies of an archaeological origin have been recorded throughout, including ladder settlements, enclosures, ring ditches and pits. Across the whole scheme, there is clear evidence of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation, along with former field boundaries and drains. Modern responses including service pipes and magnetic disturbance have also been detected. Based on the results of the geophysical survey, the archaeological potential is considered to be high in the majority of fields and moderate thereafter
