The trial trench evaluation comprised the excavation of twelve trenches, each including three test pits, evenly spatially distributed across the Site. No finds were recovered from features excavated within the trenches nor sediments sieved in test pits (Figure 3). The Site was located c.300m to the south of prehistoric activity located on higher ground and directly south of medieval agricultural ridge and furrow features. None of the features uncovered had any obvious association with this known activity.
