Abstract/Summary

MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned to undertake an archaeological geophysical survey on the proposed site of a new sports pitch at Chelveston Road School, Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire. It had been thought, given the results of previous archaeological investigations, that part of an Iron Age and Roman linear settlement would lie close to the south-eastern corner of the pitch. The results of the survey showed that, whilst this was indeed the case, the detectable archaeological remains lay entirely outside of the development footprint.
