Abstract/Summary

Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c. 2.3ha area of land at Ashton Road, Hartwell, Northamptonshire. A fluxgate gradiometer survey was successfully completed across the site. The only anomalies identified relate to Medieval ridge and furrow (more clearly visible on LiDAR mapping), together with a pond recorded on 19th century mapping. The impact of modern activity on the results is limited to the south-eastern and far eastern area of the site. This is evident as magnetic haloes around extant ferrous objects and fences.
