Abstract/Summary
MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by The Environmental Dimension Partnership Ltd, on behalf of their client Barwood Homes, to conduct an archaeological geophysical survey on land adjacent to The Firs, Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire, in advance of a planning application for residential development. The results from the survey indicate evidence for medieval or post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation and quarrying. A large area of disturbance in the north-west could be attributed to construction of either the canal or nearby bridge, or else to demolition of the former Swan public house. No further features of archaeological interest were detected.
