Abstract/Summary

In October 2019 MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by Northampton Borough Council to undertake archaeological works on the site of the inner bailey of the former Northampton castle. The works were designed to evaluate the survival of archaeological features prior to a potential forthcoming community excavation. A test pit was excavated in the south-east end of the site that uncovered sections of a surviving wall foundation relating to the castle.
