Abstract/Summary

Scanning indicated that the background levels were generally low. Several areas of archaeological activity were located as well as isolated anomalies. Multiphase settlement was noted adjacent to the A5 road, extending from the prehistoric period to the Roman era. An associated occupation area was thought to be located in the fields immediately north of here. Ridge and furrow extended around the site. To the south of the B3406 the location of the southern boundary of the deserted medieval village of Thrupp was defined, as well as a Roman settlement. Other isolated finds such as ditches and pits were recorded across the site.
