Abstract/Summary
This collection comprises images, CAD, spreadsheets, site data and reports from a trial trenching evaluation at Braybrooke Road, Desborough, Northamptonshire. This work was undertaken in March 2019 by Oxford Archaeology and was commissioned by Pegasus Group on behalf of Gladman Developments Ltd. The evaluation consisted of 45 trenches arranged across the site, following a geophysical survey. The evaluation revealed an absence of archaeological features in the majority of the site, although a hollow-way, dated by a small quantity of late Iron Age pottery, and eight linear ditches that appeared to form a field or enclosure system were discovered in the central and eastern part of the western field. Five undated pits were also discovered in this area. The putative field system was not dated by any artefactual remains, although one of the ditches truncated the upper fill of the hollow-way and was, in turn, overlain by ridge and furrow cultivation.
