Abstract/Summary

MOLA Northampton was commissioned by Northampton Partnership Homes to undertake a programme of Archaeological Observation, Investigation, Recording, Analysis and Publication (AOIRAP) during structural investigations of St Andrew’s Wall, St Andrew’s Road, Northampton. The works comprised the excavation of five test pits designed to assess the structural condition of the extant wall and to inform proposals for the construction of a stairway abutting this structure. No archaeological features were encountered within the excavated test pits however they did demonstrate varying depths to the natural and build-up of modern made ground reaching a depth of 1.29m.
