Abstract/Summary
In November 2021 an archaeological evaluation was undertaken of a plot of land on the west side of Braunston Lane, Staverton, Northamptonshire. A number of archaeological sites of the prehistoric periods are present in the surrounding area and the proposed development had the potential to disturb significant buried heritage assets. Six trial trenches were excavated but no significant archaeological features or artefacts were present within the trenches. While the existence of individual, isolated, archaeological features away from the trenches cannot be entirely excluded, it is unlikely that large numbers of archaeological features or artefacts are present on the site. The impact of the proposed development on significant buried heritage assets is assessed as low.
