Abstract/Summary
This report details the results of a borehole survey carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) on land at the Old Rectory, Lower Road, Stoke Albany, Northamptonshire, (NGR: SP 80660 88220). The work was undertaken on 1st April 2022 in support of an application for residential development. A Dando Terrier rig operated by a Geotechnical contractor was used to core sample twelve holes across the proposed area to depths of between 2m and 3m. The work was supervised by an archaeologist, and core sediments were recorded on site. No significant archaeological or palaeoenvironmental deposits were observed and no potential is suggested for the survival of palaeoenvironmental deposits. Indications of made ground were recorded in a number of the holes, with evidence to suggest that this was of relatively recent date. The archive for the work will be deposited with Northamptonshire Archaeological Resource Centre under Event number ENN110.621.
