Title Brampton Heath Golf Centre, Church Brampton: interim summary report
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2017

Abstract/Summary

In response to a series of planning conditions on the extension of Brampton Heath Golf Centre the Heritage Network was commisioned to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring on the development groundworks. The proposed development entails the archaeological monitoring of all groundworks associated with the extension of the clubhouse, associated parking, services, landscaping and access: this report represents the results of the first stage of monitoring, which revealed evidence for previous ground reduction across the site. The startigraphic sequence exposed in Trench 1 consisted of modern made ground lying directly above the natural sands. No datable archaeological features, deposits or finds were revealed during the course of the current investigation.
