Abstract/Summary
The building was in a state of disrepair and unsafe to either enter or approach its external walls due to risk of collapse. The existing building consists of two ranges of different construction. Stylistically the eastern range appears to be no earlier than the 18th century, and mapping evidence suggests it was built between 1817 and 1886. The western range has been re-built and extended between 1938 and 1964. In its original form the building was likely 'T-shaped' to accommodate stairs within the rear of the building was there is no evidence for stairs within the eastern range ground floor. Investigation of the internal arrangement of the building including the cellar may shed further light on the layout and date of the building. The remaining outbuildings likely date to the same period and reflect a single construction phase for the farm.
