Abstract/Summary
Magnitude surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c. 6ha area of land at Courteen Hall Estate, Northamptonshire. A fluxgate gradiometer survey was successfully taken across the survey area, with modern interference generally limited to the extant field boundaries and an a track way. The survey has primarily identified anomalies of agricultural origin such as modern agricultural trends, an extant trackway and ridge and furrow cultivation in multiple alignments. Anomalies of undetermined origin have also been identified. These anomalies are likely caused by modern, agricultural or natural activity, however an archaeological origin cannot be excluded.
