Abstract/Summary

The gradiometer scan and detailed survey successfully located a number of anomalies of archaeological interest within a high level of magnetic background 'noise' caused by ferrous debris. A number of linear ersponses and pit type anomalies were recorded as well as evidence of past ridge and furrow cultivation. These responses were confined to the areas of the application area that are adjacent to the scheduled and cropmark sites. The results suggest that the anomalies are not part of a major settlement complex. In addition, ridge and furrow cultivation and modern ploughing disturbance may have significantly degraded the archaeological features.
