Abstract/Summary
In March 2023, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of Land at Crow Lane, Northampton, Northamptonshire. The evaluation was undertaken to satisfy a planning condition pertaining to the construction of a steel assembly facility and new highway junction. A total of nine trenches were excavated across the 2.59ha site. A modern field boundary, corroborated by the 1888-1913 six inch OS map, and a natural gully were identified in Trench 1, at the western portion of the site. A layer of alluvium was observed in Trenches 8 and 9 at the eastern end of the site; the alluvial deposit did not conceal or contain any cut features. No finds were recovered from any of the features and deposits identified.
