Abstract/Summary

This collection comprises images, and CAD from an archaeological evaluation undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in April 2014 at Goulsbra Road, Rushden. Ten trenches were excavated during the evaluation. The evaluation identified seven ditches in seven of the ten trenches. Two of these ditches contained Romano-British pottery, although both ditches were on the same alignment and in roughly the same location as a former field boundary shown on the 1886 Ordnance Survey map of the area and modern pottery was recovered from one of the ditches. It is therefore likely that the ditches are later in date, although the presence of Romano-British pottery does indicate Roman activity in the vicinity. The other ditches were post-medieval/modern agricultural ditches or undated features.
