Title | Archaeological geophysical survey at Rockingham Forest Park, Phase 2 King's Cliffe, Northamptonshire |
Author/Originator | John Walford |
Date/Year | 2023 |
Abstract/Summary
MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned to conduct a geophysical survey at Rockingham Lodge Park, King’s Cliffe, Northamptonshire. The survey identified a small number of dispersed and disjointed length of ditch, of unknown date and function, and two other ditches which could be identified on historic mapping and had formerly marked the lines of parish boundaries. Some possible fragments of ridge and furrow were also detected. However, much of the site showed evidence of disturbance from the construction and use of the former RAF King’s Cliffe in the 1940s.
