Abstract/Summary
A magnetic survey was commissioned to prospect for buried structures of archaeological interest on land at Halse Copse, near Helmdon, Northants designated by the scheme as CRO1065. Survey was undertaken using an ATV-towed and GNSS-tracked non-gradiometric array of caesium vapour magnetometers on a non-magnetic platform. The site appears to have been contaminated with unscreened green manure which has created a continuously variable sea of magnetic anomalies. These mask anything weaker, including any anomalies from features of archaeological interest.
