Title | Archaeological Strip, Plan and Sample Recording: Land Adjacent to Taylor's Green, Warmington, Northamptonshire |
Author/Originator | Mark Peachey |
Date/Year | 2023 |
Abstract/Summary
Archaeological strip, plan and sample recording was undertaken on land adjacent to Taylor’s Green, Warmington, Northamptonshire. This was because the site lies in an archaeologically sensitive area, in the former hamlet of Southorpe, which is represented by earthworks of housing platforms and ridge and furrow surrounding a triangular ‘green’ which is located to the immediate west of the site. However, the investigation revealed only a sequence of natural and modern deposits with no archaeological features or finds, suggesting the site had been heavily truncated in the past.
