Title | Archaeological Monitoring and Recording, 25 Kettering RD, Great Harrowden, Northants |
Author/Originator | Mark Peachey |
Date/Year | 2022 |
Abstract/Summary
Archaeological monitoring and recording of pre-development groundwork was undertaken on land at 25 Kettering Road, Great Harrowden, Northamptonshire. This was because the site lies in an area of known archaeological potential with cropmarks of late prehistoric to RomanoBritish date lying close to the site. The site is likely to have lain within the medieval open fields of Great Harrowden, lying outside the core of the village. The monitoring and recording revealed a dump of 19th century building material related to the construction of the house and a modern soakaway. There was no sign of the cropmark features entering the site which meant that a provision for mitigation work was not required. There were no archaeological features and finds comprised pottery and glass of early modern date.
