Abstract/Summary

CFA Archaeology Ltd carried out an archaeological watching brief for ADJ Architectural Services Ltd on behalf of Mr Damien Venkatasamy, within the conservation area south of the historic core of Cogenhoe village and in the seting of the Manor House, 42 Church Street, Cogenhoe, Northamptonshire, NN7 1LS. A swimming pool and a foundation slab for the installation of an ancillary living accomodation were excavated: however, the excavations only revealed a pig or boar skeleton. The work was carried out in two phases. Phase one was carried out in February 2019 and consisted of the excavation of the swimming pool, while phase two was carried out in April 2019 and consisted of the excavation of the foundation slab.
