Title | Land at Old Farm Lane, Ashton, Northamptonshire: Archaeological evaluation |
Author/Originator | Harry Mason-Hodges |
Date/Year | 2024 |
Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken at Land at Old Farm Lane, Ashton, Northamptonshire ahead of the erection of five self-build dwellings, on behalf of Seima Construction Ltd.The evaluation revealed a single potential archaeological feature: an undated shallow potential ditch in the southwest of the Site. This is untypical of significant features. Made ground (and the medieval pottery retrieved from it) was recorded in the majority of trenches and is likely to be associated with the rectangular land clearance and subsequent mounds of soil seen on aerial imagery in 2009 and related to when houses adjacent to the Site were built.
