Title | Archaeological geophysical survey at Lyveden New Bield, Northamptonshire, June 2024 |
Author/Originator | Graham Arkley |
Date/Year | 2024 |
Abstract/Summary
MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by the National Trust to conduct magnetometer and earth resistance surveys immediately around Lyveden New Bield, Northamptonshire. Despite relatively weak responses, the survey identified several ditches, as well as an area probably relating to clearance prior to building work immediately around the footprint of the building, and a portion of a probable small road. The survey also detected two areas of medieval to post-medieval ridge and furrow, as well as field drains and the routes of at least two buried utilities.
