Author/Originator
Date/Year 2021

Abstract/Summary

An archaeological trial trench evaluation was undertaken by Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd at nine locations across Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. The works covered several visits between 14th April – 28th August 2021. The site code allocated for the works was 1C20PARTT. The parish boundary evaluation aimed to investigate the origins, development and use of parish boundaries and important hedgerows within three counties along the HS2 Central scheme, through the excavation of 11 trenches across nine parish boundaries. A total of nine locations (hereafter referred to collectively as “the Sites”) were determined as a representative sample of parish boundaries along the route suitable for investigating the development and use of parish boundaries: C30032 Radstone - parish boundary between Brackley St Peter (presently Greatworthparish) &Radstone parishes
